.SYNOPSIS...
Dry and tranquil weather are expected to continue through next week.
A couple weak, but dry weather disturbances will pass by early next
week in between periods of high pressure ridging. Otherwise, above
normal temperatures, with highs mostly in the low to mid 70s, light
winds, and periods of high clouds will prevail.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
Dry and tranquil weather conditions will continue on through much of
the next couple weeks with no indications of when the next
considerable chance of rain is. At the moment, strong NW flow
continues across the Southwest with strong high pressure between
here and Hawaii. Thinner clouds and less coverage of clouds will
allow for temperatures to be a bit warmer than yesterday, especially
across central AZ. Noon temperatures are running 2-5 degrees warmer
than they were yesterday. Heading through this weekend temperatures
are expected to warm a little further, as the high pressure nudges
further east into the region, with lower desert highs increasing
into the middle 70s by Sunday. While afternoon highs warm up to 10
degrees above normal, morning lows will remain closer to normal and
quite cold in some valley locations like Casa Grande.
The ridge over the Desert Southwest will eventually be flattened and
dissipate following a couple dry troughs moving through the West.
The first will pass well to the north, through the Great Basin, on
Sunday and the second is then likely to pass a bit closer to our
region Tuesday. With the latest NBM forecast, these troughs are
expected to lead to to temperatures dropping a few degrees for
Tuesday into Wednesday. The pattern then essentially repeats itself
during the latter half of next week with another ridge (likely
stronger) building over much of the Western U.S. Guidance is now
hinting at highs potentially reaching above 75 degrees across
portions of the lower deserts at some point late next week into the
following weekend.

South Central Arizona including KPHX, KIWA, KSDL, and KDVT; and
Southeast California/Southwest Arizona including KIPL and KBLH:
No major weather issues will exist through Saturday evening under
varying amounts of high cirrus coverage. Trends in wind speeds and
timing of wind shifts will be similar to the past 24 hours with very
light speeds situated under high pressure with limited mixing.
Depending on the amount of overnight wood burning within
metropolitan areas, slantwise visibilities (and even visibility
near the sfc) may be restricted Saturday morning.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
The weather pattern through Saturday will continue to promote dry
conditions with slightly above temperatures and periods of higher
level clouds. Humidities will remain stable with MinRHs between 20-
30% over the majority of the area. Overall light winds generally
following diurnal patterns are also expected. More dominant high
pressure is then anticipated to move into the region this weekend
into next week bringing even warmer temperatures with humidities
gradually decreasing closer to 15% across the lower deserts by the
middle of next week. Dry air is expected to continue to filter in
during the latter half of next week with MinRHs falling below 15%.
